Ingredients

– 1 1/2 pounds raw large shrimp (26 to 30 per pound), peeled and deveined

– 5 tablespoons unsalted butter

– 3 tablespoons minced garlic (about 10 cloves)

– Finely grated zest of 1 medium lemon (1 tablespoon)

– Juice of 1 medium lemon (3 tablespoons)

– 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes

– 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

– 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

– Chopped fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1-First, pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to help them sear nicely.

2-Melt the butter in a large 12-inch frying pan over medium-low heat, then add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 to 2 minutes.

3-Next, toss in the shrimp along with the lemon zest, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper, making sure everything mixes well.

4-Spread the shrimp evenly in the pan and crank up the heat to medium.

5-Stir occasionally until the shrimp are firm and cooked through, which takes about 3 to 5 minutes.

6>Once done, serve it up garnished with cilantro and lemon wedges if you like.
