– 1 teaspoon seasoning blend

– 1/2 teaspoon additional seasoning
– 1 teaspoon seasoning
– 4 pieces cube steaks (butcher tenderized)
– 1 cup flour
– 1/2 cup oil
– 2 cups water
– 1 bouillon cube
– 1 large onion, sliced into rings
Instructions
1-Mix the four seasonings together in a small bowl to create a flavorful blend.
2-Place 1 cup flour in a shallow dish, saving some for later to thicken the gravy.
3-Sprinkle both sides of each of the 4 pieces of cube steak evenly with the seasoning blend, pressing it into the meat for better flavor.
4-Heat 1/2 cup oil over medium-high heat in a skillet, ideally cast iron, for even cooking.
5-Dredge each steak in the flour, pressing with your fingertips, then dredge again for a crispy coat.
6-Fry the steaks for 1 minute per side over medium-high heat, then lower to medium and cook 4-5 minutes on each side until golden.
7-Remove the steaks and drain them on a plate, keeping 2-3 tablespoons of oil in the skillet for the gravy.
8-Heat the oil over medium-high heat, add 3 tablespoons of the reserved flour, and whisk until a roux forms and browns slightly.
9-Add 2 cups water, 1 bouillon cube, and the remaining seasoning blend, stirring until the gravy thickens nicely.
10-Adjust the seasoning or liquid as needed to get the perfect consistency.
11-Return the steaks to the gravy, top with the sliced onion rings, cover, and simmer for 30-40 minutes until everything is tender and flavorful.
