πŸͺ Enjoy soft and chewy salted caramel cookies that blend sweet and salty flavors perfectly for a satisfying treat.
🍯 Experience the rich taste of dark brown sugar and buttery caramel with a delightful sea salt finish that makes every bite irresistible.

  • Total Time: 50 minutes to 24 hours 20 minutes
  • Yield: About 24 cookies

Ingredients

– 1 cup butter (lightly softened)

– 1 cup dark brown sugar

– 1/2 cup sugar (white granulated)

– 1 large egg

– 1 large egg yolk

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1/4 cup high-quality caramel sauce (plus more for drizzling)

– 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

– 3/4 teaspoon baking soda

– 1 teaspoon salt (reduce to 1/2 teaspoon if sprinkling sea salt flakes on top)

– Sea salt flakes (optional, for topping)

Instructions

1-Preheat your oven: preheat your oven to 390 degrees Fahrenheit and line your baking sheets with parchment paper to get everything ready for success.

2-Cream the butter and sugars: cream the butter, dark brown sugar, and white granulated sugar together for at least 4 minutes until it’s light and fluffy this step is key for that perfect chewy center.

3-Add wet ingredients: beat in the large egg, large egg yolk, and vanilla extract for about 1 minute to mix it all in smoothly.

4-Stir in caramel sauce: stir in the 1/4 cup of high-quality caramel sauce to add that sweet magic.

5-Fold in dry ingredients: fold in the 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 3/4 teaspoon baking soda, and 1 teaspoon salt until just combined don’t overmix!

6-Chill the dough: chill the dough for at least 30 minutes, or ideally 24 hours, to keep the cookies from spreading too much and to boost the texture.

7-Roll and place dough balls: roll the dough into balls about 1 1/2 tablespoons each and place them on a light-colored baking sheet.

8-Bake and finish cookies: bake for 8-11 minutes until the edges are lightly golden, then cool the cookies on the sheet for a few minutes before drizzling with extra caramel sauce and optionally sprinkling sea salt flakes.

Notes

🍫 Use dark brown sugar for richer flavor and chewiness; golden brown sugar can be used as a substitute.
🍢 Choose thick, refrigerated caramel sauce with higher butter and lower water content instead of thin caramel syrups.
❄️ Chill the dough at least 30 minutes to minimize spreading; longer chilling up to 24 hours improves texture further.
