๐Ÿฅง Indulge in decadent Pecan Pie Bars that combine rich caramel filling with crunchy, toasted nuts for a perfect dessert treat.
๐Ÿฏ These bars offer an easier, less messy alternative to traditional pecan pie with easy portion control and delicious flavor.

  • Total Time: 3 hours 25 minutes
  • Yield: 12 bars

Ingredients

– Cooking spray

– 8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

– 1 cup all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting

– 3/4 cup dark or light corn syrup

– 1/4 cup packed light or dark brown sugar

– 2 large eggs

– 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

– 1 1/2 cups pecan pieces (6 ounces)

Instructions

1-Preheat oven to 350ยฐF. Lightly coat an 8ร—8-inch baking pan with cooking spray and line it with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides to form a sling.

2-Make Crust: Beat butter, granulated sugar, and salt with a mixer until creamy. Beat in flour on low speed until a crumbly dough forms, then press dough evenly into the prepared pan.

3-Bake Crust: Bake for 20 to 22 minutes, until the edges are golden brown. This step builds a solid base for the filling.

4-Make Filling: While crust bakes, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, flour, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth, then stir in pecan pieces.

5-Assemble & Bake: Pour the filling evenly over the warm crust and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the filling is set and golden brown.

6-Cool & Chill: Cool the bars completely in the pan on a wire rack for about 1.5 hours, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight to firm up.

7-Serve: Use the parchment paper sling to lift the bars out of the pan and cut into 12 pieces for sharing.

Notes

๐Ÿ’ก Using pecan pieces is more economical and offers great texture.
๐ŸŽƒ Corn syrup provides signature sweetness and caramel consistency; you can use light, dark, or a blend.
๐Ÿฅ„ Unsalted butter is best; if you use salted butter, reduce crust salt to 1/4 teaspoon.
