๐Ÿท Warm up with comforting Mulled Wine, blending rich red wine with cozy spices for the perfect winter drink.
โœจ This recipe is simple to make and delivers a delightful balance of fruity, spicy, and sweet flavors.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 to 6 servings

Ingredients

– 1 (750 ml) bottle dry red wine (fruity, full-bodied types preferred)

– 1/4 cup brandy or orange liqueur or tawny port

– 1 orange, sliced into rounds (peel before simmering to reduce bitterness)

– 8 whole cloves

– 2 cinnamon sticks

– 2 star anise pods

– 2 to 4 tablespoons sugar, honey, or preferred sweetener (to taste)

– citrus slices (orange, lemon, lime)

– extra cinnamon sticks

– extra star anise

Instructions

1-First, gather your ingredients and combine them in a large saucepan, stirring briefly to mix everything together. This helps the spices and wine start blending right away.

2-Next, heat the mixture over medium-high until it just barely simmers avoid boiling to keep the alcohol and flavors intact. Then, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for at least 15 minutes, or up to 3 hours for a richer taste.

3-After simmering, strain out the orange slices, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and star anise using a fine mesh strainer to get a smooth drink.

4-Finally, taste and adjust the sweetness as needed, then serve warm with optional garnishes.
