Ingredients
– 1 to 2 racks pork ribs
– 1 teaspoon paprika
– 1 teaspoon chili powder
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 teaspoon black pepper
– 1 cup water
– 1/2 cup apple juice or 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
– 1 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional)
– 1 cup BBQ sauce (homemade or store-bought)
Instructions
1-Start by removing the membrane from the back of the ribs if it’s still on; this helps with tenderness and lets flavors soak in better.
2-Mix the seasoning 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon black pepper and rub it evenly over both sides of the ribs for a tasty coat.
3-Place a wire trivet rack at the bottom of your Instant Pot and add 1 cup water, 1/2 cup apple juice or 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, and 1 teaspoon liquid smoke if you want that extra smoky touch.
4-Arrange the ribs upright around the pot with the meat side facing out; for one large rack, just circle it inside.
5-Secure the lid and close the vent, then cook on high pressure for 25 minutes for baby back ribs or 30 to 35 minutes for spare ribs, adjusting based on your altitude and how tender you like them.
6-After cooking, allow a natural pressure release for 15 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure to finish.
7-Transfer the ribs to a foil-lined baking sheet, coat them with 1 cup BBQ sauce, and broil in the oven for 2 to 3 minutes to caramelize the sauce and add a nice crisp.

๐ด Both baby back ribs and spare ribs can be used, just adjust the cooking time accordingly.
โณ Longer pressure cooking results in tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs; shorter cooking offers a firmer texture.
๐ช Removing the membrane before cooking improves the rib texture significantly.
