๐Ÿ” The Hangover Burger is a hearty and satisfying meal combining crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a perfectly cooked egg.
๐Ÿฅ“ Perfect for a quick morning fix or a comforting breakfast, this burger delivers bold flavors and plenty of protein.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 burgers 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Olive oil, butter, or high heat cooking spray for the griddle or grill

1 pound ground beef (80/20 or 85/15 meat to fat ratio recommended)

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1 teaspoon steak seasoning

ยฝ teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

8 slices bacon

4 burger buns

Butter for buns

4 slices deli-quality white American cheese

4 large eggs

Condiments such as green salsa (salsa verde) and mayonnaise, or condiments of preference

Instructions

1-Begin by preparing all ingredients: Mix the 1 pound of ground beef with 1 teaspoon kosher salt, 1 teaspoon steak seasoning, ยฝ teaspoon onion powder, and 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce by hand. Form this mixture into 8 large meatballs for smashed burgers or 4 traditional patties for grilling, and don’t forget to butter the 4 burger buns.

2-Cooking on the Griddle: On the griddle, cook the 8 slices of bacon until crisp, then drain the fat to keep things tidy. Toast the buttered buns on the griddle, spread green salsa on the bottom halves and mayonnaise on the top halves, and set them aside for assembly.

3-Place 4 meatballs on the griddle and smash them evenly flat using a tool with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

4-Cook the patties until the edges are done, then flip to your desired doneness for that perfect juicy texture.

5-Assemble each burger by layering the bottom bun, one patty, 1 slice of deli-quality white American cheese, another patty, another slice of cheese, the cooked bacon, and the top bun.

6-Finally, cook the 4 large eggs to your preference on the griddle and place one on each burger before serving immediately.

Notes

๐Ÿ”ฅ Lower heat on hot griddles to prevent burning.
๐Ÿณ Use a press tool to smash patties thinner for better cooking.
๐Ÿฅ— Avoid adding vegetables for a straightforward, comforting flavor; use deli-quality white American cheese and condiments like green salsa and mayo for balance.
