– Β½ cup butter, softened to room temperature (salted or unsalted)

– 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature

– 1 cup powdered sugar

– 8 ounces whipped topping, thawed (extra creamy recommended; homemade whipped topping can be used)

– Gummy candies (optional for decoration)

Instructions

1-Prepare the pudding mixture: Whisk the instant French vanilla pudding mix and milk together until combined, then refrigerate to set.

2-Prepare the cookies: Remove 8 cookies and chop them into ΒΌ-inch pieces for texture; crush the remaining cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or rolling pin.

3-Make the creamy mixture: Cream together the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth. Beat in the powdered sugar until smooth. Add the chilled pudding mixture and beat on low speed to combine. Carefully fold in the whipped topping until uniform, avoiding overbeating.

4-Assemble in a trifle dish or serving container: Layer 2 cups of the pudding mixture, followed by Β½ cup of the crushed cookies, and ΒΌ cup of the chopped cookies. Repeat the layers, ending with a final topping of crushed cookies.

5-Add gummy candies on top or between layers as desired.

6-Cover and refrigerate for at least 12 hours (overnight) to allow the flavors and textures to meld.

7-Serve chilled, using a spoon or fun scoopers for presentation.
