Instructions

2-Mix cherry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the frozen cherries, 1/4 cup maple syrup, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir in 1 tablespoon arrowroot powder or cornstarch until well mixed.
3-Prepare baking pan: Pour the cherry mixture into a 9ร9 baking pan or 10.25-inch cast iron skillet.
4-Mix topping ingredients: In another bowl, mix 1 1/2 cups oats, 1 cup finely chopped sliced almonds, 1 1/2 cups almond flour, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
5-Combine wet ingredients: Stir in 1/2 cup maple syrup, 1/2 cup melted coconut oil, and 1 teaspoon almond extract until well combined.
6-Assemble crisp: Evenly sprinkle the topping over the cherry filling, covering most of the cherries.
7-Bake: Bake for 55-60 minutes until the topping is golden brown. Broil for a few minutes at the end if extra crispness is desired.
8-Cool before serving: Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
