Ingredients

– 12 oz sliced cooked bacon

– 1 to 2 cups croutons (homemade recommended for extra crunch)

– 1 lb (3 cups) tomatoes, any variety, sliced

– 1 medium or large head of lettuce, chopped, rinsed, and dried (options include Boston, bibb, butter lettuce, romaine, or green leaf)

– 3 tablespoons mayonnaise

– 4 tablespoons sour cream

– 1 large garlic clove, pressed

– 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh chives

– 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

– 1/4 teaspoon sea salt or to taste

– 1 to 2 tablespoons milk, adjusted for desired consistency

Instructions

1-Prepare the dressing: Prepare the dressing by combining 3 tablespoons mayonnaise, 4 tablespoons sour cream, 1 large pressed garlic clove, 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh chives, 1/8 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste) in a small bowl. Stir well and gradually add 1 to 2 tablespoons milk until you reach the desired consistency. Cover and refrigerate until serving.

2-In a large mixing bowl, combine 12 oz sliced cooked bacon, 1 to 2 cups croutons, 1 lb (3 cups) sliced tomatoes, and 1 medium or large head of chopped, rinsed, and dried lettuce.

3-Just before serving, drizzle the salad with the dressing to taste and toss gently to combine. The amount of dressing can vary based on the size of the lettuce head, so adjust as needed for the best results.
